Silas Makenzi Nyamora who is facing charges in a defilement case at the Nakuru Law courts was on Tuesday denied bond and will now be remanded for one week awaiting hearing on December 27 2017, a Nakuru court has ordered.
The prosecution on Tuesday informed the court that the accused is having similar cases and his release on bond will be a threat to his life as residents are very bitter with him.
He is accused of defiling a minor of 14 years, an act allegedly committed on December 6 2017 at Soko Mjinga in Kaptembwa.
The accused is facing another charge of having an indecent act with a minor.
The accused denied all the charges.
While refuting the sentiments made by prosecution that his life was in danger if released on bond, the accused informed the court that his security was okay back in the society since he was innocent.
However, Magistrate Joe Omido said the court could not grant a bond.
“I cannot grant you bond and then I hear that something bad has happened to you back in the society. You will therefore remain in remand for one week,” said the magistrate.
