A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) youth supporters in Nairobi have appealed to Cord principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula to endorse the Coalition's 2017 presidential candidate.
According to the supporters, the delay is giving Jubilee Party unnecessary popularity.
In an interview with this writer during an ODM Youth League Forum that was attended by party leader Raila Odinga at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday, the youths said that the coalition stood to gain more popularity if it endorsed its candidate as early as possible.
“We are urging Cord principals to quickly endorse the coalition's 2017 flagbearer so that we can start popularising the coalition,” said Moses Juma, an ODM youth supporter in Nairobi.
Mr Juma said that Cord will easily defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 if it settles on its key man as early as possible.
The supporters also asked the coalition principals to remain united as it was only their unity that would see Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto unseated from State House.
“Cord has to remain united if it really wants to unseat Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017,” added Reuben Ambasa, a supporter based in Kibera constituency.
