Ndithini MCA Joseph Musyoka has said delay in release of government funds is causing anxiety to some departments implementing development projects in Yatta Sub-County.

Speaking to residents on Sunday during a church service at Redeemed church, Uika area, Musyoka said that some departments have not received their entitlement for spending in the current financial year while others are yet to get their quarterly allocation both for development and recurrent expenditure.

“The scenario has led to halting implementing of some projects as the affected departments could not purchase or train due lack of funds,” said Musyoka.

He added that it was now difficult to implement most of the programmes in his ward, which required a lot of training of both extension staff and farmers.

Musyoka said that the work plan they had drawn in the assembly set to commence immediately after the end of the last financial year have been adversely affected, and it would be difficult to implement them in the period stipulated in their work plans.

The legislator called for a faster system of funds disbursement to the county and national government departments so as to deliver the promises made to the public on time.
