The claims are due to an alleged delay in passing of the supplementary budget.

“As far as I am concerned, the county has been running its projects the normal way. So far we have issued Authority to Incur Expenditures (AIE) to all the contractors awarded work by the county government,” said Mathea.

Mathea added that the only hindrance caused by the supplementary budget was lack of operational money to support the projects.

“This also has hindered the county government accessibility to both local revenue and allocation from the National government,” said Mathea.

He said that once the governor assents to the supplementary budget this week, the county will be able to access the money without any hitches.

Mathea also said that the National Government has failed to release the county allocation on time as required adding that the finance docket received the January allocation last week.

He said that the delay has forced them to pay workers using locally generated revenue.
