Kisumu County Fire Brigade Executive Officer Caroly Nyumba has blamed the county residents for using wrong telephone number to reach them whenever emergency occurs.
Speaking in his office on Saturday, Nyumba said that most people use a telephone number which is not operational hence blaming them on delays when called upon.
“Most people use the police emergency number which do not help at all since it is not operational, so by the time this emergencies reach us through other sources we reach the scene when the damages have already been done,” said Nyumba.
Adding to that Nyumba said that fire fighters are always ready to quick response during emergencies need there be as there ethics requires them to and should there be any delays from there side then it could be that they never received the call on time.
“The public should reach us through these numbers; 020-2113855 or 020-2113815 to immediately and directly reach our office for a quick and effectively action to be taken,” advised officer Nyumba.
He assured the county residents that his team is always prepared and ready to fight fire emergencies as they are equipped with the facilities and skills required for the service, a status he claimed is the reason which makes them to serve even their neighbouring counties like Siaya.
