This is what Uasin Gishu Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (Kuppet) chairman Elijah Maiyo says will ensure all teachers within the municipality get the same house allowances.

Speaking in Eldoret, Saturday, Maiyo expressed concerns that out of 24 schools in Eldoret town, only teachers in seven schools have been categorised as working within the Eldoret municipality.

Teachers within the Municipality earn a monthly house allowance of sh20,000 while those outside earn Sh16,000.

"Some schools are right inside Eldoret town yet those teachers are not categorised as living within the municipality which is unfair. This is why we want the demarcation process to be completed as soon as possible so that those teachers get the allowances they deserve," noted Maiyo.

"We have like 400 teachers who are affected by this issue," he added.

Among the schools categorised as within the defunct Eldoret municipality are Kapsoya, Wareng, Racecourse, Sosiani, Hill school and Kipenyo.
