Residents in Machakos county have been advised to write a petition to the county assembly of Machakos county instead of staging fruitless demonstrations.
This was said today by majority leader for Machakos county assembly Joshua Mwonga in Machakos town.
Mwonga said that demonstrations by traders or other people cannot force the county assembly to change the decisions they have made and neither do they solve anything.
He urged residents to follow the right procedures whenever they want their grievances listened and attended to.
He warned Machakos county residents to avoid politicizing demonstrations where political leaders take advantage of the situation to discredit other leaders.
"Even if people demonstrate for one year, they can't force the county assembly to amend decisions without following the right procedures," said Mwonga.
