Traders operating within Kisii town have said unnecessary demos are affecting their businesses.
Led by Elijah Maangu and Wilfridah Mogesa said that the demonstrators blocked roads which scares customers.
"Unnecessary demonstrations within Kisii town have been affecting our businesses. We are forced to close our shops as the deminstrations go on," he said.
According to him, they feared that demonstrators might make away with their goods.
"We ask the police officers to warn anyone planning demonstrations so as we may have a peaceful environment that is friendly," he said.
Ms Jane Mogesa asked elected leaders to perform inorder to avoid unnecessary protests.
"Leaders should also ensure they deliver their promises to avoid unnecessary demonstrations. We are tired of the protests that usually come during market days," she said.
They were speaking on Tuesday at Daraja Mbili market.
For the past three weeks, Kenya has seen an increase in demonstrations by locals.
