The residents said they were angered by the lecture Deputy President William Ruto recently issued to their governor Amason Kingi over Kilifi government’s scandalous loss of Sh51 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, Ruto had ordered for the arrest of all suspects that were linked with the county’s scandal.

Led by Kilifi county Bunge la Wananchi members, the Saturday demonstrators however claimed that Jubilee has been mentioned in big scandals in the country and were therefore not fit to condemn it.

"No one should touch Kingi. He has his people. Let the Jubilee government deal with the big names that have featured in major scandals in this country," a protester said as quoted by the Star.

The protesters marched from around Imarika Sacco in town and headed to Kisumu Ndogo, Kosovo, Mbuyu Kusema, and finally Alaskan grounds.
