Business came to a standstill in Kisumu town as NASA supporters took to the streets to demonstrate against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The protestors engaged anti-riot police officers in running battles within the central business district for a better part of the day.

The demonstrators blocked roads by lighting bonfires, paralysing transport activities.

Opposition NASA called for countrywide peaceful protests against the polls body over the nullified presidential election.

They want IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials out of office, for allegedly bungling August elections.

However, some youth broke into Tumaini Supermarket and looted goods.

It took the intervention of police to disperse the looters.
