The National Super Alliance (NASA) has said it is planning to increase the magnitude of its demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) next week.
They are now asking for adequate police officers to be deployed to provide enough security.
In a letter to the Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome, the opposition said they will be peaceful in their demos set for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
“The demonstration will be peaceful in nature and to ensure orderly procession. The coalition has made arrangements for peace marshals who will guide and manage demonstrators,” read in part a letter by head of NASA secretariat Norman Magaya.
He requested for good numbers to be deployed to provide the necessary security to for Opposition leaders and Kenyans who will be with them in the protests.
Magaya hit out at Jubilee Secretariat boss Raphael Tuju saying his recent 'barbaric arguments' were not enable in a modern democracy.
He said Jubilee was planning to use criminals calling themselves the ‘Nairobi Business Community’ to attack NASA supporters during demos.
