According to area lawmaker Raymond Moi, there is need for the government to double the number of police officers.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday, the MP observed that cases of crime have escalated in recent days.

“The government should deploy more police officers to Koisomo and other areas experiencing rise in crime, it is the only way to control criminal activities,” he said.

Moi further intimated that the number of the police currently in the ward is overwhelmed, adding that adding security personnel will guarantee safety.

He also said there is need for the government to set more police posts across the sub-county, so that security personnel can respond in good time to distress calls from the public, adding that the government has the responsibility to protect its citizens and their property.

“It is the mandate of every state to guarantee safety of its people, and we are part of the people,” he added.

The MP asked leaders across Nakuru to forge together and provide services to the people who elected them to office.
