Githinji, while addressing the public at Ndumberi grounds on Wednesday during the Madaraka Day celebrations urged marginalized groups to come forward and get the tenders.

He further said that the county has complied with the directive requiring that 30 per cent of tenders allocated to youths, women and persons with disabilities.

“Youths, women and persons with disabilities should not fear to apply for the 30 per cent tenders because they have been reserved for them,” he said.

Githinji said that the tendering process has been made easier with the use of technology, further observing that all tenders are being done electronically to curb cases of corruption.

The deputy added that the county is organizing for training targeting marginalized groups to empower them with knowledge on government opportunities, noting that 80 per cent of marginalized groups have been trained and sensitized on Uwezo Fund, Biashara Fund and the 30 percent government tenders.

Michael Waikenda, the county Youth Affairs minister encouraged youths who have not applied or Biashara and Uwezo Funds to do so, saying that young people can form groups to easily access and utilize the funds.

Waikenda also asked beneficiaries of the funds to use the money wisely and on the intended projects.
