Kisii county Deputy governor Joash Maangi has said Gusii leaders are eying on how to have unity to promote Kisii community in development.
According to Maangi Gusii leaders have been having secret meetings to plan on how Gusii community will in future by benefiting from the national government.
Addressing the residents at Nyamanche on Monday Maangi accused those who are lamenting over their secret meetings.
“Yes I accept that I as the Deputy governor do meet with some Gusii MPS, Senator among others to create unity as Gusii leaders and how to promote development in our region,” said Maangi.
“Those who are lamenting why we have such meetings are not for development let us join and cooperate to move forward as the community,” added Maangi.
His sentiments were echoed by Gusii leaders who graced the event at Nyamache led by former CIC chairman Charles Nyachae who said the community will move forward when there is a unity and that is what they are organising for when having secret meetings.
