Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has called for establishment of more public schools in the county.
Chemno said there is increase in the number of pupils and students seeking education in the county hence need for the schools' expansion to address the situation.
He said the county's leadership will work with parents to ensure they both contribute to the schools' development.
Uasin Gishu County has for the past years established more than 500 ECDEs classes across the county to accommodate increased number of children in schools and to do away with the old structures that existed before the onset of devolution.
"All school going children should direct their energies to studies.".....the government is working day and night in making sure that competent teachers and good structures are put in place to give room for better learning," Chemno said.
On issues of bursaries, Chemno asked Uasin Gishu residents to bear with the county's administration for the delay of bursary issuance due to the late passing of the supplementary budget.
"When bursaries will be disbursed, I call on the members of the public to keenly consider the vulnerable families as a priority. This will help all of us," he added.
The Deputy Governor made the remarks during a funds drive at Murgusi Secondary School on Friday.
