Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has refuted claims that the county government irregularly suspended two doctors.
Saying that the law was followed, Chemno denied that the doctors were shown the door because of demanding for their rights. Chemno however says that the two are to blame due to what he says is absconding duty after they were transferred to another facility.
"Every worker should know that they can be transferred anytime. In the month of August, we made some changes in the health department and all those transferred took to their new stations except the two,” he said.
Chemno added, “The two union leaders were not at their work stations for a whole month and disciplinary action had to be taken," Chemno said.
The deputy governor who was speaking in his office said that the two, despite being union leaders, were also subject to transfers like the rest.
"Everybody can be transferred despite their status. Being a union official does not make you different," he said.
