Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo has officially taken over from Governor John Nyagarama albeit temporarily.
The second term governor flew on Friday to US where he is said to be undergoing medication over his persistently deteriorating health.
And in a letter signed by Nyagarama, Nyaribo will now discharge duties as governor except those provided in Article 179(5) of the constitution.
"This is to bring to your attention that I will be travelling out of the country from 10th May 2018 for medical attention.
"You are now allowed to discharge duties of the governor except nominating, appointing and dismissing as articulated in 179(5)," reads the letter.
But just hours after the unprecedented hand over, the DG is now embroiled in a controversy where he is said to have forged the governor's signature in a letter dismissing County Secretary.
For the better part of Friday and Saturday, Nyaribo was put under pressure to resign over what residents refer to as 'gross misconduct'.
