Nyamira Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo believes that he will win ‘easily’ the 2017 gubernatorial elections, saying people trusts his transparency and openness throughout the period he has been in office.
Nyaribo fell out with his boss John Nyagarama citing corruption and maladministration by the county regime as the reason behind his protest.
Speaking to the reporter on Monday, Nyaribo said he was optimistic of a clean victory and vowed to bring sanity to the county once elected.
“The issue about me winning was determined long ago. The Nyamira people know my stand and I have been fighting impunity in the county government. I am the right person for the job and nobody can prevent my outright victory,” he said.
“The position of Deputy Governor as currently constituted is toothless but I have pushed so hard to see impunity isn’t given a space in my county. The little I have done makes me an ideal candidate. I will bring sanity because I know where the rains started beating us,” he added.
He challenged area residents to vote people based on their integrity and warned voting people based on clans they come from.
“As Nyamira people, we have an opportunity to make fundamental changes. I will definitely win easily. That can only be achieved if we desist electing clan cocoons. I am sure I will lead our county to a desired destination,” he said.
