Deputy President William Ruto has warned all leaders handling devolved and national funds meant for development to ensure every coin is spent wisely for the intended purposes.
Ruto said Jubilee government will not tolerate cases of corruption over the funds meant for development, and warned those misappropriating the same that their days were numbered.
“It is time to separate those who want to deliver from those who do not want to deliver and devolved and national funds must be utilized well. We are open over this,” he said.
He noted that authority comes with responsibility and responsibility is coupled with accountability and anybody not ready for this should start packing.
Ruto said the Jubilee government was ready to work with all leaders regardless of their political affiliations to ensure development was achieved in the country.
“We were elected to help Kenyans regardless of the party. Let us put parties aside, fasten our belts and develop our country. We don’t want political noise now. It is time for development,” Ruto said.
The DP was speaking on Wednesday at Nyamira when he accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to officiate the opening of Nyamira County Referral Hospital.
He urged the citizenry to cooperate with leaders to fast track development as that is what is needed in nation building.
