Political leaders from across the political divide in the country have been called upon to slow down on the 2022 election politics and focus on pertinent issues affecting the country.

Speaking at a hotel in Nakuru, ODM National youth league through their National chairman John Ketorah said that the handshake between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta should unite the country.

"Fix the problems that is facing us today before we focus on the future, we can't be always in an election mood," he said.

Koitamet Ole Kina, one of the NASA technical and strategy committee said that the handshake was not about 2022.

"The handshake is not about helping anybody to spring forward and get easy ride to 2022 elections, we shall still remain the watchdog of the public while Jubilee remains the government party," he said.
