Independence party KANU will now hold joint rallies with ODM and ANC parties within the populous Rift Valley region, a senior ODM official has said.

Equally, the joint rallies shall be replicated across the country which Gideon Moi would make his official declaration ahead of 2022 polls notwithstanding constitutional amendments calls.

In the setup, party Secretary Generals for both parties will draft a strategy that would see massive joint recruitment of members in Rift Valley, a move targeting to scuttle DP William Ruto's influence.

"At the moment, we are working together to popularize the three parties. We shall hold joint rallies, especially within the Rift Valley region.

"Later, we shall reach other regions including our strongholds where Gideon will be accompanying us. Raila will be busy working with the president," said the source.

Already, Raila, who is pushing for a parliamentary system of government, has dismissed claims that he will be running for president in 2022.

Last month, Raila met Gideon Moi's father Daniel Moi and Tiaty MP William Kamket claimed that plans are in place to have Raila back the young Moi.

"I can assure you that Gideon will be on ballot and Raila is set to back him. That is in place and when the time comes, we shall all see," he said.

The partnership between  Raila and Moi seems to have angered the DP, who would later be denied the chance to meet the elderly Moi at Kabarak home.

Last weekend, Secretary Generals Nick Salat (KANU), Edwin Sifuna (ODM) and Godfrey Osotsi (ANC) accompanied Gideon to Samburu.
