Deputy President William Ruto met a section of leaders from Taita Taveta county, led by Governor Granton Samboja.

The team held discussions on development programmes including improving infrastructure, upgrading health facilities, issuance of title deeds to land owners, fixing human-wildlife conflict and water provision, with specific focus on Mzima II that will supply safe drinking water to residents. 

"Successful interventions in these areas will aid the realisation of the Big Four," Ruto said on Friday.

Samboja welcomed Ruto's assurance of Jubilee government's commitment to improving lives of the people of the coastal county, saying infrastructural development and health improvement would be a major boost.

The governor who was elected through NASA coalition's Wiper Party had earlier on publicly declared his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee administration.
