[Photo|CoG]The funeral arrangements of the late Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru will be run by two committees, the National Committee and Nyeri County Government Committees.The Council of Governors (CoG) said the National Committee will meet at its offices and will be co-chaired by chairman Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok and ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru. The committee will be in charge of the overall Nairobi programme.The Nyeri County Committee will be co-chaired by the Deputy Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu. It will run the County arrangements.Kahiga will be the link between the National, County Planning Committees and the family.Council of Governors and National Government representatives will be engaged in all planning meetings with the family."The tentative burial date is 18th November, 2017 at Nyeri County. However, when the date is firmed up, official communication will be made," said Nanok after a meeting with governors and other leaders from Nyeri county in Nairobi, Wednesday.In attendance were Nanok, Senator Ephraim Maina, Kahiga , Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, Murang'a governor Mwangi Wairia, Nyandarua governor Francis Kimemia, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, Bomet governor Joyce Laboso, Kericho governor Prof Paul Chepkwony, Migori governor Okoth Obado, Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki, Nandi county's Stephen Sang, and their Kajiado counterpart Joseph Ole Lenku.
