Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Monday afternoon received a delegation from the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), led by chairman Simon Mbugua and Mathias Kasamba.
The leaders had a productive discussions on strengthening trade through facilitating free flow of capital and labour within the region and also promoting cohesion and brotherhood among the residents of the East African Community.
The swearing-in ceremony of EALA members of parliament was held in Arusha, Tanzania two months ago.This is after Kenyan parliament elected members in both the Senate and the National Assembly on Thursday December 15.
Those elected from Jubilee Party include:

3. Mpuri Aburi (208)
4. Aden Noor (192)
5. Wanjiku Muihia (180)
Those elected from the NASA coalition include:
1. Kennedy Musyoka (309)
2. Oburu Odinga (243)
3. Abdikadir Aden (235)
4. Fatuma Ibrahim (142)
Kenya was the only country being awaited to send their nominees to enable it to take off.
During the oath taking, Mbugua from Nairobi County was elected the chairperson of EALA Kenyan chapter, Kennedy Kalonzo as the Vice Chairperson and Chamatia as the Secretary of the nine-member team.
