Human Rights organisation - HAKI Africa visited Voi mortuary attendants to appreciate the selfless of work they do on a day today basis. This was informed by the record of unidentified bodies they receive regularly.
From October 2017, the organization said Voi Hospital Mortuary recorded a maximum of 16 unknown or unidentified bodies which covers the 50% of the mortuary intake capacity.
Led by CEO Hussein Khalid, HAKI Africa said it would assure the health sector operates within a policy and legal framework that comprises of both national and international instruments including the National Health Sector Strategic Plan 2013-2017, Vision 2030 Sector Plan for Health and the proposed Kenya Health Policy of 2014-2030.
"We want to make sure the government delivers on its constitutional promise of building a progressive, responsive and sustainable technologically driven, evidence based and client centered health system for accelerated attainment of the highest standard of health to all Kenyans," Khalid said on Monday.
Also in attendance was the hospital superintendent Dr. Felix Kimotho, Health Administrator Linah Mole and Public health officer Holiness Mcharo.
