Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi held a breakfast meeting with representatives of the Department for International Development (DFID) - UK at the Mombasa Club.
The DFID is a ministerial department of the UK spearheading UK’s work to end extreme poverty.
Their conversation revolved around modalities of partnering in addressing the global challenges of poverty and disease, insecurity and conflict with the aim of building a safer, healthier and prosperous world for our people.
The Saturday meeting saw them also exhaust possible areas of cooperation in Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock.
Kingi said they strive to create more value out of such sectors "which we believe harbour the potential of creating employment to a majority of our citizens and in return minimize poverty."
