Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho hosted Jean Pierre TUTIN - the Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Department, Embassy of France in Kenya and Muhammed Ramazani - Honorary Consular of France.
They had insightful discussions about the ongoing collaborative project between the County Government of Mombasa and the French Government on the valuation and promotion of Mombasa as a World Heritage destination.
The project aims at revamping the Mombasa tourism sector through the conception of cultural products and scenography of the historical background of this great city.
On its completion, Joho said it is expected to attract more tourists, enable a 24-hour economy and create more job opportunities to young people in the tourism and hospitality industry among other sectors.
"Overtime, the people of Mombasa and France have had a supportive, productive and cordial relationship which has bore fruits in different sectors," Joho said on Thursday.
"We are grateful for the kind gesture extended us by our friends and will always support any noble idea that will help elevate the lives of our people."
