Before Friday when The National Super Alliance (NASA) principals held a closed-door meeting, there were reports of huge rifts within the Opposition.

Top on the list of fears was that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was considering pulling out of NASA, if he is not handed the presidential ticket.

Another issue that shook the coalition was the different opinions on whether NASA parties should hold joint nominations or separate party primaries.A meeting held just before the mammoth NASA rally on Friday in Mathare is said to have calmed the storm that threatened to tear the coalition apart.

In the meeting, reliable sources say Kalonzo was disappointed following reports he was planning to quit NASA.

He was reportedly angry over claims that he secretly met Jubilee Party’s President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa, when Wiper and Jubilee held rallies at the Coast.Kalonzo assured his colleagues in the opposition that he was in NASA to stay. The four co-principals resolved to calm their party members and avoid leaking information that could harm the coalition. They agreed to push for NASA interests, even as anxiety continues to grip their supporters on who will fly the presidential flag. The meeting was not attended by any of their aides or personal assistants, a move that was hailed by Wiper deputy chairman Mutula Kilonzo Junior.“I encourage them to hold more of such meetings, away from their allies who can be very toxic,” Kilonzo was quoted by the Nation.Raila has hinted that NASA could soon name its flag bearer.

“You will soon see the white smoke ... the black smoke you are seeing is deliberate,” the former Prime Minister said on Saturday. The delay in naming NASA flag bearer has attracted criticism from rivals Jubilee party, with Deputy President William Ruto saying the four principals have no solid agenda for the country.NASA will today, Sunday hold a rally at the Tononoka Grounds in Mombasa.Do you think they will name their presidential candidate at the Tononoka?
