Foreign envoys held a meeting with leaders of the NASA coalition over the country's political environment.

The meeting also involved religious and business leaders.

The envoys were led by US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec and the British High Commissioner Nic Hailey on Friday.

NASA was represented by Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Prof Kivutha Kibwana.

The diplomats urged President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government, the opposition and all Kenyans "to engage in open, transparent national conversation to address underlying issues and strengthen institutions to help Kenya."

They also stressed the need to uphold Constitution.

The meeting came a day after Odinga slammed the diplomats saying they should stop interfering with Kenyans' affair.

They had warned Odinga against going ahead with his swearing-in plans, saying it would polarise the country even more.

Odinga, however, maintained that he would swear himself in as president on December 12.
