The NASA coalition is today (December 1) scheduled for a meeting in Nairobi.
ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale said NASA would launch the National Steering Committee of the People's Assembly during the meeting at the Okoa Kenya offices, Lavington.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 10:30 am.
NASA led by its leader Raila Odinga, is using the motion to scuttle President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration which they have failed to recognise over the controversial October 26 fresh presidential election that saw Uhuru declared a winner.
Kwale County Assembly became 10th to approve the People's Assembly Motion. The assembly passed the motion on Wednesday despite opposition from a section of Jubilee party leaders in the county. The National Resistance Movement wing of the coalition dispatched to the County Assemblies the Motion on the establishment of a People’s Assembly starting November 9.Other assemblies that have passed the motion include Busia, Siaya, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Makueni and Kilifi County Assemblies.
Friday's meeting comes even as Odinga declared that he would be sworn in as Kenya's fifth president on December 12, a day Kenyans will be celebrating Jamhuri Day.
He said he will be sworn in by the people through his People's Assembly as the Constitution clearly says the sovereignty lies with the people.Odinga vowed to give Uhuru's government sleepless nights until he is ejected and Kenyans get electoral justice and right to their democratic freedom. If he swears himself in, Odinga risks being hanged for treason.
