A new power deal has been structured for the National Super Alliance principals, who are now five in number including Bomet governor Isaac Ruto.

In the new arrangement, each of the five bosses will be allocated four cabinet positions and will not be based on a single tribe but the face of Kenya must be represented.

"They are sure of the 22 cabinet positions provided for in the Constitution. Anything else that cannot be guaranteed will be addressed after elections," a source told The Star.

The source also revealed that each principal will be guaranteed at least four parastatal slots of their choice if NASA ascends to power.

However, two cabinet slots - National Assembly and Senate majority leader positions - would be decided after the August 8 polls.
