The two leaders discussed an array of issues on possible partnership between the two levels of government, focus being in relation to the National Government Big Four agenda on Health, Food security, Urban Development and Trade.

The CS commended the Governor for having worked very closely with the Kisumu Breweries management in smooth implementation of the project by managing the public during the plant construction period.

He went further and said that the National Government is keen on reviving cotton growing, leather and textile industries in the region.

The Governor on his part noted that privatization of the sugar sector might not be the antidote to the rot in the industry.

He opined that the government should focus on building infrastructure that will support the agricultural sub-sector such as light rails in the cane growing zones.

The two were later joined for a press conference by the Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi who said that time had come for the revision of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) law as it has failed in its current state.

The CS agreed and assured the duo that the PPP law was among those that his ministry had prepared for review to ensure a good environment of doing business and cooperation between the two levels of government.
