Reports say the coalition leaders led by National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi would hold a Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting over the contentious issue of House committee leadership, particularly in the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

NASA affiliate Wiper Democratic Movement whose leader is deputy coalition leader Kalonzo Musyoka has differed with its partners, ODM, ANC and Ford Kenya over appointments to the committee.

The Movement wants its Borabu MP Benson Momanyi, to sit in the committee days after the coalition picked Homa Bay WOman Representative, ODM's Gladys Wanga, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, and Vihiga Senator George Khaniri represent the coalition in the committee.

The matter saw 18 MPs from the three NASA coalition affiliate parties - Ford Kenya, Amani National Congress (ANC) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) the Wiper Democratic Movement to declare its stand in the opposition coalition a few days ago.

Led by ANC's nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi, the MPs claimed Wiper was 'rocking the coalition boat from within', citing a letter by Wiper to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, that called for the replacement of Wanga in the Parliamentary Service Commission, saying it deserved the slot.

He said: "Wiper should state categorically if it walked out of NASA without our knowledge."

Mbadi over the weekend maintained that Nasa, through him, would present the three names - Wanga, Jumwa and Khaniri before the PG, an indication that the coalition had agreed to forward the names to the National Assembly for appointments.

Despite the misunderstandings, NASA principals have maintained that the coalition was still intact.
