Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo collapsed on Saturday afternoon at Alego-Usonga and was airlifted immediately to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, reports Citizen Digital.
The first term MP was attending funeral to the son of former MP Oloo Aringo, who had died last week.
According to witnesses, the ODM legislator, who at some point served as the country's Ombudsman, collapsed when he was just about to read his speech.
Little is still known about his progress even though he is said to be undergoing medication in the Kisumu based hospital.
Before he was rushed to Aga Khan, Amollo was briefly treated at Bondo Medical Center.
Although he is a beginner in politics, the MP is highly respected within the ODM party following his participation in Raila Odinga's case at the Supreme Court in September last year.
However, his family has a strong political base given that his sister, Elizabeth Ongoro, had served as Kasarani MP at some point.
For months now, the MP has been the talking point on both mainstream and social media given his ongoing programme of constructing houses for the impoverished in his constituency.
