Detectives from Nairobi have been sent in Kwale to investigate the vandalism of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in Kafuduni on Friday.

Those targeted in the investigations include scrap metal dealers.

The damage was discovered on Saturday.

Authorities have declined to speak to the media regarding the probe as they claim it will jeopardize the investigations.

The SGR is expected to be launched on June 1 by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
