Mauche Ward residents are concerned over the deteriorating health status in the area due to lack of enough doctors and good health services.
According to the area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Leonard Korir, the state is due to lack of enough doctors in the ward, with the few available overwhelmed by the large number of patients in the area.
Speaking to our reporter, Korir said he will petition the county government to urgently look into the matter, saying he feels there is a lot that needs to be done.
“Whenever I try to inquire from the relevant health official and the county health county executive officer, the answer revolves around the same that they will add more doctors or change some of those who have been here for long and get others who can work better,” said Korir.
He further said that they need more male doctors who can easily be called upon incase of emergencies, saying the current doctor is not efficient.
James Kiprotich a diabetic patient in the area complained further saying the area health facility doctor was transferred, with his replacement unable to serve the residents properly.
“We are forced to wait for the new doctor for about three to four hours before she arrives and most of the time she is always in a hurry and ends up serving few patients,” said Kiprotich.
