County residents have raised concern over wastage of taxpayers money in organising the third pre_annual devolution conference in Meru County.

"The county governments are wasting taxpayers money on a thing which has no benefit to us," said a resident in Kisii County.

"The counties have taken delegates and MCAs to the event that is not adding up to our economy hence adding to our problems," added another dweller from Nyamira County.

The annual devolution has raised questions over its significance to the common wanainchi, with over 44 senators having pulled out of the conference, calling it as wastage of county governments resources.

Since the county governments gone to the summit the county operations have been affected temporarily.
