According to the Kisii County governor, James Ongwae, if given such a program of building infrastructures in school, it will enhance development.

Ongwae, who was speaking on Friday at Kisii National Polytechnic during annual Kenya Union of Post Primary teachers KUPPET meeting, he said that his government is devoted in helping the education sector although the sector is not devolved.

''We as the county government of Kisii are devoted to making sure that the education sector in our county is well managed more so as we are given opportunities in ECDE and polytechnics,'' said Ongwae.

He said that the national government needs to devolve infrastructures of schools to the county level as one way of giving counties an opportunity of building schools to enhance smooth learning across the country.

He added that his county has helped to build some structures even if they are not given money to do so since he cannot see students suffer without them taking action.

Governor also challenged the students and the community at large to get away from cheating during examination.

“We have brilliant students in our schools we need to get away from exam cheatings,” he said.
