Nyamira County Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo has been accused for intimidating and blackmailing county employees after Governor John Nyagarama handed powers to him when he left the county to the US for treatment.
Nyamira County Senator Okong’o Omogeni faulted Nyaribo for sacking workers without following the required procedures.
“It is unfortunate that Nyaribo took advantage of the absence of his boss to sack county workers. Nyagarama did not tell Nyaribo to sack workers.
"County employees must be allowed to work and ensure they deliver services to benefit Nyamira locals,” he said.
According to the senator, Nyaribo sacked workers who are not loyal to him on claims that they forged academic documents to secure jobs.
“It is a democratic right for anyone to support any leader or party. Nyaribo is selfish and he should be kicked out from the county because he sacked people who are not loyal to him," he noted.
He asked county workers, ministers, chief officers and county secretary to ensure they work around the clock to develop Nyamira region and not taking advantage of the absence of the governor to misuse public resources.
Okong’o was speaking at Riamoni SDA church on Saturday.
