Nakuru deputy Governor Joseph Ruto has called on elected leaders in the county to prioritise servant leadership to the electorate.
Speaking Monday during Equity Bank's Wings to Fly launch at the county headquarters, Ruto noted that it was wrong for leaders to act the boss to residents who are their appointees.
"You have to ensure that once you are elected by the people, then the their needs should always come first,"he said.
Ruto added that time was ripe for leaders bribing the electorate to change, noting that doing so was not improving their welfare in any way.
"Leadership is all about what I can do to improve your lives and not how I look or how much bribe I can offer you," he said.
At the same time, he reiterated the county's commitment to improving education standards and thanked the Equity Bank for coming up with such a noble initiative.
About 75 students drawn from the county's 11 sub-counties benefited from the scholarship.
