Public Transport vehicle owners in Uasin Gishu county have asked politicians in Jubilee and the National Super Alliance (NASA) to reach an agreement concerning the upcoming repeat presidential election so as to allow the county to move forward.
Led by North Rift Shuttle chairman Joseph Ngige, the operators lamented that public transport sector has been affected regularly due to NASA demonstrations.
Speaking in Eldoret on Sunday during prayers for road safety and peace during the October 26 poll held by over 400 North Rift Shuttle drivers, Ngige reiterated the need for the two political parties to dialogue and reach an amicable solution of contentious issues surrounding the elections process.
He said demonstrations by NASA will have negative effects to the country's economy.
"We need to get a solution that is good for this nation rather than resorting to demonstrations that will hurt our economy," noted Mr Ngige.
"This is our country, we have no other place to go. We should be careful not to do things that might put our country's economic growth at risk," he added.
