Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he is likely to become unpopular in the political arena for asking President Uhuru Kenyatta to dialogue with former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga failure to which the nation will plunge into chaos.
Speaking in Mombasa during the people’s assembly meeting, Kalonzo said that time has come for the two leaders to think about the welfare of Kenyans rather than their personal interests. The Ukambani political said that Uhuru has one week to reach out to the opposition leaders before the situation runs out of control.
“This country is headed to a civil war and I am telling Uhuru: If you don’t call Raila in the next one week, things will go bad. I know am being very unpopular with this,” he said.
The remarks of Kalonzo come at a time when leaders of the opposition have maintained that they will not recognize President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto. The leaders claim that the duo is holding office illegally. The leaders have refused to head to calls from different sections to change their stance as far as the swearing-in Raila, who took his fourth stab at the nation’s top seat is concerned.
