Slain controversial businessman and self-proclaimed human rights defender Jacob Juma knew the future if tweets doing the rounds on social media are anything to go by.
The screenshots show that Juma knew of Itumbi’s fate as early as March and he didn’t shy from sharing this knowledge.
In one of the tweets, Juma said Itumbi had been chased away from State House and that he was working for Deputy President William Ruto from his Karen Home.
It wasn’t clear from the tweets whether it was another of the DP’s office or his home where Itumbi worked from.
However, this aside, Dennis Itumbi and all Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) directors were sent packing, apart from State House Spokesman, Manoah Esipisu.
A statement issued by Deputy Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita to the PSCU Directors read: “As for now, everybody sit tight at home. You will be recalled.”
According to Kenyans.co.ke, sources privy to the suspension revealed that the President was concerned about the leaking of uncertified information to the public as well as unstructured communication by the team.
Other reports indicate that the President Uhuru Kenyatta was bothered by how the team had been responding to issues concerning the government without following media procedures.
Those sent home with Itumbi include Head of Public Communications Munyori Buku, Chief of Messaging at the Presidency Eric Ng’eno and Branding and Events Head James Kinyua.
According to Waita, the PSCU team will be restructured in the shortest time possible with an emphasis on more organised communication.
For Itumbi, he still has the Digital and Diaspora Communications Manager on his Twitter profile.
