The recent misfortunes that have befallen the NASA coalition herald a bad course for the coalition amidst plans to swear-in their principal Raila Odinga alongside Kalonzo Musyoka on January 30.
With some of the coalition's parties members unhappy with the recent deemed undemocratic sharing of parliamentary leadership positions, the coalition has called for closed-door meetings amongst the four principals leaving everyone speculating the agenda of the crisis meeting which proceeded today.
Claims that the some of the principals are working against the planned swearing-in have circulated the social media putting the coalition's progress in false light as much as some of the members have disputed and alleged such claims as far-fetched.
The meeting that occurred on Monday showed clearly all was not going well as the other co-principals are claimed to have ganged up against Raila Odinga who is for the swearing-in while one of them showed lack of commitment to the plans.
If the bitterness of fellow coalition members is not quelled and they successfully gang up against their leader as they plan, then the coalition might not swear in their leader due to the difference in opinion as is evident in the claims.
But the sad question is, how did we get here?
How many youths from Kibera slums carried Raila's dream forward, even losing their lives so that he becomes president?
If he decides not to be sworn in, what will that imply to the unwavering support he has always received in Kibera?
