Deputy president William Ruto was in Eldoret town on Friday where he presided over the issuance of cheques to farmers who owed New KCC.
While addressing hundreds of farmers who attended the event, Ruto hailed the county government of Uasin Gishu for its efforts to help improve the Agriculture sector.
He specifically acknowledged vaccination program and the subsidised Artificial Insemination programs.
"We are glad the county is doing a good job in building and improving cattle dips, vaccination of cattle as well as subsidizing sexed semen. These initiatives are key to the success of livestock production," said the Deputy president who further heaped praise on Mandago's administration for transforming Eldoret town.
"When I was the MP for the then Eldoret North constituency I wanted to see a clean and safe Eldoret town and I am glad the county has made it much better," said Ruto in mother tongue.
The statements by the Deputy President who is also the Jubilee Deputy party leader might be seen by Mandago's handlers as an endorsement and they could use the same to woo more voters.
Mandago is facing a stiff competition from business mogul Kiprotich Bundotich popularly reffered to as Buzeki in his bid for a second term in office as the Uasin Gishu governor.
The two will battle it out for the Jubilee party ticket during the nominations set for April 19.
