Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is a man under siege for allegedly plagiarising his speech.
Kenyans on social media have attacked the governor, questioning his prowess in intellectual matters after news emerged of the said plagiarism.
They accused him of lifting a speech by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid and presenting it at a strategic plan meeting on Wednesday.
However, Sonko has moved swiftly to deny the allegations saying his speeches are always original.
Sonko said that the alleged speech had appeared on a Facebook page that is not his, and that the managers of that page were using his identity to send the wrong message.
"Today, the FAKE FB account claimed that I had chaired a meeting of Executive Council which was allegedly attended by the President. The same post claimed that I chaired another meeting attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid," he said.
