President Uhuru Kenyatta’s new wrist watch, an Arnold & Son, is reportedly worth Sh2.1 million.
The watch was visible on his wrist when he addressed the media on voter registration at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri on Friday.
According to the Star, Uhuru’s watch is called the HM Perpetual Moon and retails for between $21,000 and $25,000 (Sh2.16 million and Sh2.58 million).
John Arnold was an English watchmaker and inventor.
He was the first to design a watch that was both practical and accurate, and also brought the term "Chronometer" into use in its modern sense, meaning a precision timekeeper.
Arnold died in 1799, but the brand was revived in 1995.
