A lot of literature has been written on the topic but in a changing world, moralists and those opposed to any abnormal sexual acts will have a hard time controlling what information is available to people without boundaries.

In this month, a lot will happen and since it is already set, a few numbers to help you figure.

According to a study in Sweden, when asked if they had ever masturbated before, 15% of the women surveyed said no, compared to just 1% of men.

In the study released earlier this month, in total, 3,000 men and women were interviewed.

And atheists come in!

A 2008 study in the archives of sexual behaviour found that individuals who described themselves as “agnostic” or “atheist” were much more likely to have masturbated than those from specific religious groups.

Overall, 95% of agnostics said they had masturbated at least once in their lives, compared to 64% of ‘fundamentalist Protestants’, 62% of Christians and 53% of Jews. The average age of “first self-pleasure act varied between groups.

Married people are less likely to masturbate according to the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behaviour (NSSHB) conducted by Indiana University.

For singles, women who are “single and dating” meant the highest chances of masturbating while men were the most likely to self-pleasure.

Several surveys show that more than 60% of men watch porn.

In 2014, a study in Australia found that 63% of men had ‘looked’ at porn at least once in their lives. This was in either print, films or online and in comparison to 20% of women.

The preacher who asked the members to self-pleasure could be worldlier than he should or may be his gospel is different from other Christians’.

‘Pastor’ Edisai Mensah is based in Benoni in South Africa and other preachers are up in arms seeking his prosecution for misleading the flock.

Authorities in that country are yet to act on the infamous pastor who has been defended by his followers.
