Presidential candidate Mohamed Abduba Dida is confident of defeating his rivals in the race to State House in the forthcoming August 8 general elections.
Dida, who vied for the presidency in 2013, says he is not depending on ethnic or tribal backing to prevail in his bid to occupy the country's top office.
"My strongholds towards winning this election are the poor and ordinary Kenyans looking for a new face to represent the presidency," said the hopeful during an interview with the Standard.
"I will prove that a young man from a marginalised community can become president," he added the 47-year-old candidate.
Dida dismissed the allegations that he is a Jubilee project positioned to scatter Muslim unity and votes.
“What unity. Are they united, to begin with?” he posed adding " Muslims are united under the umbrella of political brokers who want to sell them to the highest bidder."
The former Lenana School teacher said he has always been a change agent in all his life and will deliver the change Kenyans have been yearning for.
"I will work to restore the honour of humanity which our current leaders have not achieved because they really don't understand our problems," Dida remarked.
Dida who will be vying on the Alliance for Real Change (ARC) party will face off with the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta (Jubilee Party), Raila Odinga (ODM) and Cyrus Jirongo of the United Democratic Party (UDP).
Others include; Ekuru Aukot of Thirdway Alliance, and Independent candidates Joseph Nyagah, Simon Gichira, Michael Wainaina and Japheth Kavinga.
