Alliance for Real Change (ARC) party leader Abduba Dida has said the lifestyle audit proposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta is a bad idea.
Dida has further challenged President Uhuru and Opposition chief Raila Odinga to declare sources of their wealth.
"I hope that after the politicised lifestyle audit, Jubilee Party and NASA will tell us how they managed to raise billions for campaigns," Dida said in a Twitter post.
The former presidential candidate urged the Jubilee and NASA allied politicians to avoid the temptation of using corruption to fight individuals.
He warned that such motive could easily bring back politically instigated chaos and hatred in the country.
"We can't use the war on corruption to fight few individuals. Honesty is very important. What is happening now is simply partiality in fighting corruption and is likely to backfire and bring division and bring hatred," he said.
President Uhuru has proposed that public officials be subjected to an audit as a means of fighting corruption.
